Handcrafted Sicilian “coffa” bag, made with the finest quality Sicilian dwarf palm and embellished with coloured pom poms, wood, thread, mirrors and brass medallions.
Local artisan Luigi and his children, to whom he has passed on the skills of this traditional craft, are some of the last remaining practitioners of their art. With each creation taking two full days to make, no two bags are ever quite the same - to Sicilians, to us, and to the world, that is what makes them so special.

Whilst roaming the streets of outer Palermo – a vibrant city of immeasurable charm – we stumbled upon one of the few remaining authentic Sicilian coffa bag producers, and fell instantly in love. The colours and textures of these delicious accessories were so wonderfully unique and versatile, and right there, we resolved to bring them to the rest of the world. That is how Sicily Bag was born in 2015, and it continues to bring us so much joy to not only share this artisanal splendour, but to also support the beautiful family who plies this fading craft.
